Aiming to promote professional development and foster connections among immigrant entrepreneurs in the United States, Brazilian Joe Douglas has launched a business center in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to immigrant-led enterprises. The initiative focuses on experience sharing, access to technical training, and encouraging business formalization.
Originally from Araraquara, São Paulo, Douglas moved to the U.S. in 2019 after working in various roles across Brazil and Europe, including as a military police officer and a custom furniture salesperson. Upon arriving in the U.S., he began working as a flooring installer. By 2020, he started investing in businesses within the construction, education, and corporate events sectors.
His flagship project is the DX Business Center, located in Orlando. The center serves as a hub for supporting immigrant entrepreneurs. “We offer coworking spaces, training, and networking opportunities for professionals aiming to thrive in the U.S. market, particularly Brazilians,” Douglas explains.
Other ventures led by Joe Douglas include Construction Academy, which provides technical training for workers in the construction industry based on Florida’s building codes; DX Properties, focused on real estate asset management; and Vex Racing, an initiative that connects high-performance business concepts with the world of auto racing.
The group also hosts several networking events and business conferences involving leaders from the Brazilian, Hispanic, and American communities. One of the key events is the USA Business Summit, which, according to organizers, aims to bring together investors, entrepreneurs, and market experts from across the U.S.
“My work is grounded in my personal experiences. My goal is to help Brazilian immigrants strengthen their presence in the formal economy,” Douglas states.
